Red Lion, 15 Holly Road, Little Dawley
The Red Lion at Little Dawley was demolition on the 2/8/2017.
In the 1841 Census Andrew Hughes's occupation is a Butcher but in the 1851 Census he is a Farmer with 25 Acres and employing 2 Men, a Butcher and Innkeeper with the address Red Lion.
The Red Lion may have been there long before 1851 but this is the first time I can find the name, the latest trade directory I have is Kelly’s 1941 so I have not done any Publicans after that date but I will add them if I get more information.
I have used the latest address for the pub on all the census information but it had in 1841 Holly Edge, 1851 and 1861 Great Dawley, 1871 Nightingale Row, 1881 1891 and 1901 Holly Hedge Road, 1911 15 Holly Road.
